Maps and Directions

Sites:
The American Baptist Churches of New York State have two camps in New York. They are Pathfinder Lodge located near Cooperstown, NY and Camp Vick located in Sandusky, NY southeast of Buffalo. Each is unique, and provides a wonderful setting for building a stronger relationship with Christ through the beauty of nature.

Camp Vick is located on Sandbank Road in Sandusky, NY southeast of Buffalo. It is a rustic children’s camp utilizing both cabins and platform tents for sleeping quarters and provides all the adventures of a typical summer camp. Swimming, boating, sports and crafts are interspersed with Bible study and worship. Children learn about God, and have a great time while they do it! Camp Vick also has a family camping area with full hookups available from May 1- October 16, Spring and fall weekends are available for church youth and adult retreats from May 14- October 16. Camp Vick’s 200 acres provide a scenic, peaceful setting for any retreat or meeting.

Pathfinder Lodge is nestled along the hills surrounding Otsego Lake near Cooperstown, NY on County Rt 31. Its picturesque location allows for hours of relaxation and fun swimming, boating or sailing on Otsego, or just enjoying the beauty from shore. Pathfinder provides a full summer of children’s camping, and utilizes a variety of cabins for sleeping. Several of our newer cabins are equipped with full bathrooms, and are also available for rental during our family camping weeks, or Fourth of July and Labor Day. Fall and spring weekends are available for retreat rental beginning May 1- October 23.

Program:
In all we do, our goal is to introduce people to Jesus and equip them to grow spiritually and minister to their world. Our weekly programs are developed as an avenue to accomplish this mission. Most programmed weeks run from Sunday at 3pm to Friday at 6pm (see schedules). Each camp session is designed for a specific age group and has a defined focus. Our more “general” sessions are designed to include ALL the fun camp has to offer, while our specialty programs have a more defined focus on a particular type of activity. Camp activities include: boating, swimming, outdoor games, nature activities, crafts, sports, Bible Study, camp store, hiking, cookouts, worship, campfires and so much more! Our specialty weeks include: Creative Arts, Sports Camp, Soccer Camp (Vick), Sailing (Pathfinder), Equestrian (Vick), Pioneering/Frontier programs, Special Needs (Pathfinder), and Aquatics/Rough Terrain (Pathfinder). See our camp descriptions for more details on these sessions.

Staff:
We take very seriously our responsibility as caretakers of camp and campers! Our Ministry Staff is comprised of a combination of volunteer and paid members. Each must complete our application, reference and interview process. We seek to find committed Christian individuals to partner with us in living out the Great Commission. Working at a summer camp isn't all fun and games but it is an excellent opportunity to step out in faith and experience God's call. We challenge our Ministry Team members to put faith into action and follow God's call into missions and ministering to His children! Once on-site our summer staff participate in intensive training lead by our Executive Director, Site Directors, Department Leaders, and various specialists. Our training program is developed in consultation with Health Department regulations, camping industry standards and training programs.
