CHRISTIAN EDUCATION - Starting April 18, 2017

INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIAN COUNSELING - Starting April 17, 2017 
Offered by Iroquois Association 

The course is designed to equip students to understand the various problems that may be faced by the people they minister to, identify resources that are available and explore ways they can help.

When: The class will meet weekly for ten 2-hour sessions (7:00-9:00 pm.) on Mondays beginning April 17, 2017

Where: Eastwood Baptist Church, 3212 James St., Syracuse, NY 13206

Instructor:
Rev. Dr. Jim Stone has served as a pastor in several churches and is now serving as Protestant Chaplain at Hutchings Psychiatric Center in Syracuse.  He is a Life and Leadership Coach and has previously taught the Introduction to Christian Counseling course for the Lay Study Program.

Required Text:
Christian Counseling, Revised and Updated Third Edition by Gary R. Collins
Additional resources: Crisis Counseling by H. Norman Wright and/or The Youth Worker’s Guide to Helping Teenagers in Crisis by Rich Van Pelt & Jim Hancock

Fees: The tuition for each course is $80. For family members living in the same house, the fee is $80 for the first person and $40 for each subsequent person. Students may audit a course, without credit, for $40.  Additional $10 fee for taking a course online to cover the additional costs.  The cost of the textbooks for each course is in addition to the registration fee.
