American Baptist Churches USA
American Baptist Churches USA accepts applications for the Matthew 25 Grant twice a year. In order to be eligible for funds, ministries must have a relationship with American Baptist Churches USA. Awards from the fund will be disbursed in April and in October, and the maximum amount given to any ministry or church will be $5,000 per year. The committee will consider only one application per ministry/church in any calendar year. Each applicant will need to complete an application, submit a budget for the ministry, and add a one-page explanation about the need for and uses of the funds. The Virginia and Gordon Palmer, Jr. Trust of the American Baptist Foundation (VGPTABF) was created in 1999 as a permanent endowment to the American Baptist Foundation (ABF), a membership organization supporting the ministries of the American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS), American Baptist International Ministries (IM) and the American Baptist Multi-Region Corporation (MRC). The Trust is administered by the Foundation in accordance with established guidelines and principles and seeks to American Baptist related ministry and mission. Each year, ABF works with our member partners to determine the theme for each grant cycle. Grants are to be utilized for programs and projects unable to be funded through normal operating budgets. Awards will be determined based upon their adherence to theme objectives as well as need and merit. Our targeted date for the launch of our next cycle will be late Spring/ early Summer. At that time ABC organizations, churches, and related ministries and missions are eligible to apply. Look for press releases about upcoming 2015 opportunities.
