American Baptist Churches of New York State cooperates with the ABCNYS Ministers Council to serve a common ministry purpose. The Ministers Council, however, is an autonomous, self-governing organization with its own internal decision-making process.

NOTE: Open to pastors and church leaders of all denominations. Come in person, or attend the morning session online (10am-noon)

This program is designed to get us thinking about our youth, and how the youth of today are faced with so many different challenges from those of previous generations, perhaps even yours! How can we learn from their creativity and vision, honor their inquisitiveness, and value their perspective? How does technology affect their privacy and their ability to handle the unsolicited advice, public comment, judgment, and criticism that go along with that? Are our young people confused when dealing with ethical dilemmas? As Christians, how do we listen and respond to our young people regarding these matters that bombard them everyday? How do we show mercy, compassion, and faithfulness in the face of these topics that are difficult even for adults to discuss among themselves?
Free Will Donations are graciously accepted for this event as are donations of shelf-friendly items for the local food. (And bring books to share for the book swap!)
SHOULD YOU WISH OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS:
The Hampton, The Best Western and the Kiteville hotels are all located right off the Route
17/86 exit in Owego, are all located in the same complex on the beautiful Susquehanna River,
and are all reasonably priced. They are approximately 30 minutes from Spencer. This is a rural
area, no heavy traffic. Some of you may wish to spend the night if you feel the location of the
event is a bit far away for a day trip. There will be opportunity to have dinner and fellowship in
the evening should you wish to take advantage of this option.
There is scholarship opportunity
